Events are user interactions with content that can be tracked independently from a web page or a mobile application. Buttons, pageviews, pictures etc, practically anything clickable, are all examples of actions you might want to track as Events.
Events are useful in understanding behavior of users on your web or mobile application because Events allow drilling down and grouping data to be more intuitive and flexible. This means that you can use better targeted segments and you will have more accurate data to play with when doing marketing.
Beemray has three types of events:
Built-in events, Browser events and Custom events.
Built-in events and Browser events can be chosen to be included in the web SDK, and their configuration alters the web SDK functionality.
Custom events are not managed via the Honeypot UI, they are built using the EventAPI and are inserted directly to web site source code by the customer.
Honeypot UI only includes an option for the admin to choose those custom events as web source rules once the custom event scripts are in place on site. In order for a Beemray audience to be fulfilled, the custom event needs to be set as a web source rule and the custom event script needs to be on site.
